VOMISTOP (Children)

- Metoclopramide 10 mg

- Pharmaceutical form: suppositories

- Therapeutic category: Antiemetic

 

 

Composition and Presentation:

Children: Box of 6 suppositories. Each suppository
contains: Metoclopramide 10 mg.

 

Contraindications:

- Intestinal obstruction.
- In patients who have extrapyramidal symptom.
- Gastro intestinal haemorrhage.
- Hypersensitivily to any component the drug.

 

Side Effects:

Extrapyramidal effects (especially on children who are sensitive to product), which is characterized by extremities spasms.
These symptoms usually disappear when the administration of the medicament is interrupted. Somnolentia, dizziness, anxiety, effects on endocrine glands: menoschesis, gynecomastia, increasing of prolactin.

 

Drugs and Interaction:

- Metoclopramide HCl can not be administered with anticollinergic compounds,
as they eliminate its affection on the intestine movement.
- Metoclopramide HCl increased the effect of CNS depressants.

 

Warnings:

- Metoclopramide should be recommended with care in patients which have hepatic or renal impairment.
- Vomistop should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy.
- Metoclopramide is excreted in human milk, therefor it should be used carefully during lactation.

 

Dosage:

- Children: 1-2 suppositories (10 mg) per day. (about ˝ mg per kg body weight).
