Composition and
Presentation:
Bottle of 8 ml sterile solution containing 0.5 % ATROPINE SULFATE. |

Contraindications:
Should not be given to patients with closed-angleucoma or to patients with narrow angle between the iris and the cornea, since it may raises intraocular pressure and urge an acute attack. |

Side Effects:
Prolonged use may leads to local irritation, oedema or conjunctivitis, dry mouth. Some vision disturbance may occurs, but disappears generally after the examination. |

Warnings:
- Some recommends not to use the atropine for children less than 3 months old due to possible association between the cycloplegia and the development of amblyopia.
- Avoid mouth administration in children as Atropine has a relatively toxic.

Dosage:
(According to physician’ advice)
Inflammatory ophthalmic disorders (as uveitis or iritis):
Adults: 1 or 2 drops of 0.5% (or 1 %) up to 4 time a day.
Children: 1 or 2 drops of 0.5% (or 1 drop of 1 %) up to 3 times a day.

Notes:
Adults: 1 drop of 1 % up to twice a day for 1 or 2 days and once before examination.
Children: 1 or 2 drops 0.5% twice a day 1 to 3 days and one additional dose an hour before examination |
